Alchemy is a medieval practice that lead to the study of chemistry. Alchemists believed they could transmutate matter with the three principles: Sulfur, Mercury and Salt. To them Sulfur represented Soul, Mercury: Spirit, and Salt: Body. They also believed that they could transmutate the four elements to create something new. I used this theme as lens to
look at the merging of technology and nature.
