Aressa Goodrich is a freelance graphic designer. She learned the language of graphic design at Maine College of Art & Design. Here, Aressa learned about typography, photography, illustration, collage, and painting. Graphic design is a powerful tool that can be used to inform and connect people, because of this, she likes to find methods in which her design skills can facilitate communication. Part of that is volunteering her time to being a member of the AIGA Maine Board.
Aressa has interned with both Decor Maine and The Book Fairy Pantry Project to do her small part to help her community. Decor Maine is a magazine made in Maine that promotes local artists and craftsmen. The Book Fairy Pantry Project is a non-profit organization that scavenges used children’s books and gives them to families without books. Aressa designed their book, Please Read To Me in the font, Dyslexie, to give out to families for free and to promote literacy. Aressa has also been a work study at MECA&D. Aressa has interned with a publishing house focused on illustrated books called, The Quarto Group. Before becoming an independent graphic designer worked with Woods Creative as an Associate Designer.
When She is not navigating the industry of graphic design, she is working on applying her design knowledge to her painting, drawing, writing, cooking, and baking. She is a nature fanatic and loves to engage in outdoor activities. She often finds her inspiration for art & design from the beauty nature has to offer.
